We guitarists use and depend on our hands quite an awful lot. It's important to stretch before you play, and warm up before you play for extended periods. Also, there are products you can buy that contain glucosamine and condrioten (sp) which contains vitamins and minerals that are very good for your joints. But do stretch before you play. You want to play for as much of your life as possible, right? Regards.
