I tried the same thing. I have a EG530C and wanted to lower my action. I removed the bridge piece only to find that I cannot shave it down because the pickup is built into it. Then I noticed there are spacers underneath in the slot. There are two 1/64" and one 1/32" piece. I would like to know the manufactures setup info. Hope this helps. Keith
