: : : I'm going to buy a 1977 Fender Telecaster for $699.00 with the hard shell case. I'ts in great condition. It looks just like Bruce Springsteen's on his greatest hits cd. The natural wood style. It is also made in the USA. Everything original. Would someone tell me if I'm paying too much. Thanks. Oh yea I'm buying it at a music store.
: : Everything's worth what people are prepared to pay for it - guitar's are no exception to that capitalist principle, I'm afraid. What prices are othere stores in your area asking for similar instruments. Here in the UK prices can vary a reasonable amount in different areas, depending on the number of places you can get hold of gear, and the number of active bands/musicians around. If I convert that asking price to Sterling it would be fair price, but I don't know about where you are.
: Sounds like a very fair price. MAKE SURE it's original and American made. It will say so.
I like the responce from the guy in the UK, you will pay more for guitars in New York or Nashville than you will in a rural area, And like he said make sure it is a 1977 and that it is original, good luck
