Jackson guitars were really popular in the mid 80's and early 90's with the heavy metal bands. They are good guitars but are made mainly for rock simply because of their pickup configuration. They are the parent company for Charvel, which I believe are not made anymore. But, in any case it's a good rock n' roll guitar. They are still pretty popular but not as much as they were.
