Hi.. I've been using an L-500 for about 4 years (in a Washburn N4). I've found the L-500 to be capable of producing a wide range of sound. I play mostly blues (SRV, clapton) and when the mood takes me a bit of black sabbath, malmsteen. I play through a Fender M80 amp and think that with the right set up the L-500 should be able to give you the type of sound you are looking for.
