if its unraveling at the bead why would you need to file the nut? maybe the problem is down there on the guitar.
: First, be sure you want to use these gauge strings for a long time before filing the nut, cause if you don't like the new strings, you'll need a new nut. I would have a tech set your guitar up. not only will the nut have to be filed, but you will need your guitar strobe tuned with the new gauge strings. Good luck.
