Is this all my fault for suggesting heavier strings?! God I hope not! I'd suggest having a guitar tech take a look at it and see what s/he thinks. It may well be that your guitar was indeed desinged with far lighter strings in mind, but that would surprise me. How about dropping to 12s or even 11s instead? Presumably you're planning to play the 13s dropped a tone (or semi-tone)? You mmight find that 11s or 12s at normal pitch give you a good tone with less hassle, and you don't need to remember your chords are in different places when you're jamming with people, which was the reason I eventually gave up on dropped tuning.
