: Follow up to my follow up: I hope I didn't confuse you too much. Just wanted to make sure you don't try to "match" the output of the amp to the speaker in any way. There's a phase inversion across transformers. In other words the speaker will be 180 degrees out of phase and will sound like crap. This inversion also happens between amplification stages in a solid state amp.
