Just thought I'd post some sites where you can find manufactory dates and origin info for your self. So you don't have to take my, or anyone else's, word for it. I suggest reading all the info available at each site. It will help you understand why there are so many faked Charvel and Jackson guitars out there and why they all say Made in U.S.A. on them. They explain the serial number mystery, bootlegged neck plates, what to look for and why "Made in Fort Worth Texas" means Made in Japan. There is a Blue Book for sale to the public also. Enter the words: Blue Book of Guitar Values , in your web browser to find the lowest current price. You can copy and paste the words shown here if you need. The 8th edition is the one I suggest. There is one for acoustics and one for electrics, you can get both for about $50.00. They give a description of what the authentic stock guitars (that's the ones that are valuable) should look like, the options that were available and the estimated value of each. All guitars that are of value or collectable, from Alembic to Zon, are in it also.
I have found 4 different versions of the Model 4, some of these are the Standard 3, but there is an easily understandable reason for this....they look identical. One is worth more than the other, so you should know which one is which.
