I have a ME50, and i must admit the distortion tones arent that good, i find the best distortion tone is on the DS-1 setting, drive 2/3 - bottom on 1/2 - tone on 3/4 - and level on 1/2, make sure master level is on 1/2, and i also overdrive my valve amp a little.
but if you want a real great distortion tone then get yourself a proco turbo rat, the 'Daddy' of them all.
