I have Garcia Grade 3, 1973, in very fine condition. I got it in 1983 for $50 from my mom's neighbor. At that time I didnt think it sounded very good....I just started playing again and.....the sound is stunning. It just resonates and rings, rich in harmonics, tunes well, I cant pick up my strat. Anyway, Sherry Brenner made these, final assembly in Japan. Now, Sherry Brenner has got a bad rap for questionable practices, but everyone Ive heard of who has a Garcia says they are just amazing...for the price. The Grade 3 new is listed at $2300. Grade 2 is around $2600. And certainly my Grade 3 sounds like a $2300 guitar, no question. It is the best sounding guitar ive ever played. People should know before they bash the 'cheap Japanese imports' that in the late sixties into the '70's, many Japanese guitars where made with impeccable quality and also very fine materials, because the Japanese where trying to capture market share. If you want, id like to trade pictures of mine and the 2a. Oh, here is the link to sherry-brenner...http://www.guitarramagazine.com/catalog/index.asp
