sometimes you have to admit that tone is in the fingers, ok so you need an overdriven valve amp, and a solid body humbucking guitar, maybe a wah too, but there is nothing myserious about his tone, the guy can set up on any rig with any old les paul and still sound like slash, 90% of what he plays is in the fingers and 10% wizardry. try treble at 8 bass at 7 and mid all the way off, gain on 9.
