I own an earlier Epiphone Les Paul Standard - maybe 1992. The guys at my guitar shop were checking it out 3 days ago. Evidently mine was built better and heavier than the more recent models. The finish is a superb Honey Burst. Overall, my Eppy Les Paul is easily as nice playing as the '75 Gibson LP I used to own. ( And that was a sweet, low-action guitar! ) With the addition of the pickups and replacing the electronics, I feel it will be superior to a stock Gibson. However, the new models may be a different story.
