I own a HD-28 Shenandoah I have personally tested it against at least 35 other Martin guitars..(D-28's, D-35's, 000-18's, etc.). The quality of the sound of my guitar I feel is better. The tone, volume, and brightness is second to none. The playability is excellent....My guitar is a pre-63... I have no hesitation to say "Play them both...buy the one you Like"
