Actually it depends all on what tone you want. Just because its more expensive doesn't mean its better. If you want a nice, warm bright tone I suggest a Fender Stratocaster. If you want more of a fat sound, get a Les Paul. Another suggestion would be a Fender Stratocaster HSS or HH. I prefer Les Pauls. It also depends on what type of music you play. If you play stuff like Led Zeppelin, Guns N Roses, I would suggest a Les Paul.
