: I recommend Spretzel Locking Tuners. You don't have to bother with looping the string around the post. Just slide the string thru the hole. Tighten the lock on the back of the tuner. Tune to pitch. That's it!

thanks Im2, I already carry a heap of gear when I go out, so I dont want to lug more than absolutely necessary, but it does sound sensible doesn't it? I like the sound of spretzel though! thanks again.Al.
