First and Foremost, play for your own ears and your own pleasure. If you like what you hear and you are having fun, that will transmit to the audience, Be humble but not timid. Don't get drunk but have 2 beers (well this works for me to relax) Use your adrenalin rush wisely by channeling it into song structure concentration. Once you're comfy on that level use the excess adrenalin to take you up a level on your playing once you break into any solos or fills.
