setting up a midi controller with a rack processor???

: Hi, : I have a behringer DSP 1000 Pro Virtulizer. And a RFX MIDIBUDDY mp 128. I can't figure out how to get the 2 to work togther. Its connected right i just don't know how to set the pedals to my favorite settings and ect. There are 4 channels to midi on my unit, does anything have to do with setting those chanels? I think there is an omni mode, a C, and a few others. The manuals for the processor and midi controller are no help at all.
