Kirk's Weekly Guitar Lesson

Hi again, fellow fan of the twang.

I have good news and bad news this week. First, the bad news: I wasn't able to get the second half of the 'Here There Everywhere' lesson finished. The good news is that the reason for not finishing it is that I have been very busy reorganizing all the lessons. They are now all in a new and very schmick forum that my partner Clancy and I have installed. She is a bit of a whiz at all things Internet and has done a great job moving all the information over to a new dedicated server. So, no more jumping through hoops, no more speedbumps in the way of viewing the movies ... all the lessons are the at all times for your perusal.

Guitar for Beginners and Beyond Forum is where to go from now on. All you need to do is register, if you're not already a member; if you are, use the same password/username as before.

The change was mainly for practical reasons. The old system I was using worked well a couple of years ago, but has become cumbersome and slow from my end. I will also be changing the main site over to a new content management system very soon, and adding a lot more content there, too.

All is well on the PlaneTalk front; the book/slide rule continue to dispel all mystery about how to see the whole fretboard as familiar, usable, friendly territory. As one member of the private PlaneTalkers' Forum put it this morning:

I have to say this is the most fun I have ever had with the guitar. Thank you Kirk.

'You're welcome' was my answer ... there's nothing I love more than letting fellow twangers in on the 'trick' to decoding the fretboard. Go to the site here for more info.

OK, I'd better get back to work so that the site will be up and running by the time you read this.

All the best,
