Sorry to hear that particular guitar was a dog. Still, it sounds like you’re sorted now.

To be fair to Washburn, Lee, I have bought off Warpdrive on the Fleeb. I think they specialize in seconds and selloffs. The 5-string Washburn bass neck I got from them had very sharp fretends in need of filing down. I bought it as a project piece so I wasn’t complaining too much but they didn’t mention it specifically in the descn. With Dreamline’s comments, I think it stands to reason to check exactly what you’re getting with Warpdrive. A look at their other auctions will show you that they deal in a lot of unfinished parts.

Not a criticism of Warpdrive as such; they sell factory seconds I guess, but don’t take it necessarily as what happens when buying a Washburn from the usual places.

Puts me off Washburn when you jear stories like that, where the hell is there quality control? needs a fret dress? so the guy who did the last check in the factory thought it was OK to send a guitar out in that condition?

Thanks for the update, Dreamline. Glad you got some CustServ out of them. Are you happy with that replacement x50 or would you have rather kept your money?

it ended early cause i bought the guitar and it was not a good deal. the fretboard nearest the pups was warped bad from the 10th fret down.i took it to a luthier and he told me $250 to dress the frets and do a pro setup on it so i sent it back and they sent me a brand new x50 pro which is in perfect condition

The listing was ended early, but is it possible that you put up the wrong link? I saw no mention of the H+K amp, and the start price was $499.

I must say, for $499, that looked rather nice. I have bought from Warpdrive on eBay (they only had about 2,000 feedback then – now it’s 26,000 and rising 😯 ) and the item (a Washburn 5-string bass neck) was sent over to me in Blighty with no problems. I can vouch for them as sellers.
I dont usualy rate washburn, but that one looks quite tasty, would’nt mind a play of that myself, even has top quality Elixir strings, i would say that is a bargain, go for it.
All the Washburns I’ve ever tried have been excellent guitars. I even play one myself these days.
