|
|
Hi Folks,
We have successfully upgraded the server that hosts this forum - now with twice the power, twice the grunt, and twice the sex appeal! (ok so I've been doing a lot of nerdy tech stuff lately - I'll return to normal soon)
Everything works the same as it did before, but faster.
If you have any questions please reply to this thread.
Cheers,
Jason.

What kind of processor has she got Jason? is she using RAID drives? and if so can you quote some figures? access times, Transfer speeds, Spin speeds? she sounds like a right little vixen, any chance of some pics? or are we overstepping th mark?
What do you think of this cheeky little minx?? Look at the HSSI ports on that, dont get many of them to the pound! |

Hi Guys - sorry I didn't mean to ignore you, but when I read Lee's post above last week I only had time to pondle it before I started having lot's of trouble with one of the other servers I upgraded - it's been a loooong week!
Anyway, I don't like to go into too much detail about the systems except to say that we don't use cutting edge equipment or software for GuitarSite.com - I like to keep things simple. Basically this server is a Dual Xeon with SCSI disks in RAID configuration.
And I don't have any pics sorry. |

So, if boozy English blokes hang around your hotel shouting "show us yer disks", we're wasting our time then?
Never mind, we'll study the footie draw for the World Cup instead |

| Who did Austarlia get in the draw? Japan, Croatia, Brazil.... um i think you'll need more than SCSSI raid drivers and dual Xenon processors to stop those Brazilians, and dont forget, England are now ranked no2 in the world!! Bring it on. |

| Quite happy that England didn't get Aus or USA in their draw. Don't be too surprised if the Socceroos get past Croatia and Japan to progress further. |

| Shall we start the betting now Bass? i predict a 0-1 vs Croatia , and a 1-1 vs Japan, and a 0-4 against Brazil, i dont think they will win a game. |

You never know with a World Cup. OK, the 'roos had to get past the mighty Soloman Islands and only beat Uruguay on penalties. But then, they beat Beckham and co in a friendly. Croatia qualified, but managed to draw a game against Malta while doing so.
The only certainty in football is that England will lose if it comes to penalties |
