    – Press Release

Yamaha brings more innovation to its FG acoustic guitar line with the addition of an onboard tuner built into the preamp of the FGX720SCA. The built-in tuner eliminates the hassle of plugging into stand-alone tuners, which can be misplaced, stolen, or difficult to use onstage.

This improvement builds on the recent across-the-board upgrade to the entire FG acoustic guitar line, which provides quality, affordable instruments for every player. The FG line has made a large impact on consumers despite the existence of higher-profileand much higher-pricedcompetitors, thanks to quality construction, playability, virtual indestructibility and superior tone.

“Adding a tuner to a guitar, especially an FG, makes so much sense and eliminates so much aggravation,” says Bryan Savage, marketing manager, Yamaha Guitars. “It adds a lot of value to instruments that are already great bargains for consumers and profitable products for dealers.”

In addition to the tuner, the FGX720SCA, a cutaway model, features solid Sitka Spruce construction, a Rosewood fingerboard, die-cast tuners and a System 55 preamp. It comes with a limited lifetime warranty and is available in Black, Natural, and Brown Sunburst finishes.

The entire FG series features solid Spruce tops, die-cast Chrome hardware and a unique, non-scalloped X-bracing. An inverted L-block creates a tighter connection between the body and the neck, and also provides a full, deep low end. In addition, customers now have options that include Rosewood and Sycamore back and side woods, acoustic-electric cutaways, left-handed versions and 12-strings.

“All of the new FG acoustics have been very successful, which isn’t surprising, given their superior construction, sound and looks,” says Savage. “Built-in tuners are generally included on mid-priced models. It’s rare to find them on a great instrument at this price point.”

The FGX720SCA will ship in March 2006.
