And here’s my reply….
Hello. I used to have 2 Targa guitars (one neck through w/active pickups and one with a bolt on neck w/ passive) which were both stolen from Scarborough ON in 2004. I am interested in replacing them, so if any of you are looking to sell one, please Email me at [email protected]. I got one of them for free (the bolt on) and I paid 50 for the other one (it was in rough shape and I had to baby it a lot to make it work) and I miss them terribly… Here is what I know about these guitars.
– They have NO affiliation with Shane. (Shane Targa is a completely different thing)
– They are Canadian made (this is only an assumption, as every one I’ve ever seen or heard of has been in Canada) Possibly Quebec or Ontario.
– They were a terribly small company that didn’t last past the early 80s.
– They produced 3 different guitar models (that I have seen) and 1 bass model.
– They retailed new for around 50-300 in the 70s and 80s, and usually when you find one still go for about that now (I don’t know where that person got the idea that they were 000…)
– They are rare, but not valueable, or really collectors items as older Gibsons or Fenders are.
– I missed getting one off eBay by a freakin’ week! I’m not happy about that…Anyways, hopefully that helped, and seriously, if any of you would like to part with your Targa, please give me an Email, [email protected] or http://www.myspace.com/strapontools And just for fun, here’s a picture of me playing my beloved (and now stolen) #1
