Ampeg has announced that five of their new bass guitar amplification products are now shipping and available through authorized Ampeg dealers worldwide.

Shown for the very first time at the Winter NAMM show last January, these entirely new for 2006 Ampeg products include the Ampeg SVT-VR, a vintage re-issue of the highly sought after 1970’s “blue-line” SVT head, as well as a new Diamond Blue Series combo, the B200R.

Two new Bass Amp Series combos are also now available. The BA115T and BA115HPT include all of the professional features of other Bass Amp Series models, with the addition of a 12AU7 tube integrated into the preamp circuit.

Finally, Ampeg is also now shipping the SVT12HE, a high-output bass enclosure that brings Ampeg’s signature tone and power to the stage or rehearsal space in a compact and portable footprint.

About the Ampeg SVT-VR
With the new SVT-VR, Ampeg had one primary goal—get as close to the coveted tone of the “classic” SVT as possible. As a result, the preamp stage, power section, and even the rocker switches of the new SVT-VR emulate the exact signal path, tone, and vibe of the original rock ‘n’ roll workhorse.

The all-tube SVT-VR amplifier is driven by a total of six 6550 power tubes for massive power and tone. In addition to the 70’s style dials and rocker switches, the SVT-VR’s preamp circuitry has been faithfully recreated to match the original. Even the classic blue graphics are there.

The Ampeg SVT-VR is currently available and carries a manufacturers suggested retail price of ,799.00.

About the Ampeg B200R Bass Combo Amp
The new B200R draws upon the legacy of the famous Ampeg Portaflex “Flip Top” from the 1960s, combining the sound, feel, and tone of this classic amplifier with solid-state technology for light weight and maintenance-free reliability.

But the B200R takes this successful combination to the next level by adding a 12AU7 preamp tube for additional warmth, as well as balanced XLR output with level control and 220 watts of power driving a custom-designed 15-inch Eminence driver. In addition to the tube and power increase, Ampeg has also equipped the B200R with a Piezo high-frequency component for additional punch and tonal clarity at the upper end.

The new B200R also features four bands of EQ, plus Ultra Low, Ultra Mid, and Ultra High switches for fine-tuning your sound. Currently available, the B200R has a manufacturers suggested retail price of 49.00.

About the Bass Amp Series BA115T and BA115HPT
The new BA115T and BA115HPT have all of the professional features of other Ampeg Bass Amp Series combos, with the addition of a 12AU7 tube integrated into the preamp circuit. Both combos incorporate line out, 3-band EQ, Style control, and padded input options into a robust, tilt-back enclosure—making them ideal for stage, studio, or even the bedroom.

The BA115T features 100 watts of power, a 15-inch driver, and a Piezo high-frequency component for additional punch and tonal clarity at the upper end. The BA115HPT ups the power ante to 220 watts and incorporates a 1-inch compression driver in place of the Piezo transducer. In addition, the BA115HPT adds dedicated input and master gain controls as well as CD input and Mute Switch.

The BA115T has a manufacturers suggested retail price of 99.00, while the BA115HPT has a manufacturers suggested retail price of 49.00.

About the SVT12HE Bass Enclosure
The compact SVT12HE delivers 300 watts RMS of power handling and 123dB of SPL thanks to a front ported baffle and custom-designed 12-inch driver. Its compact enclosure weighs in at 46 pounds and measures only 165 x 21 x 16 inches (H x W x D). Like all Classic Series enclosure, the SVT12HE is constructed of rugged Baltic Birch plywood for structural integrity and maximum tonality.

The SVT12HE has a manufacturers suggested retail price of 99.00.
