    – Press Release

“Every Breath You Take” reminds us all of someone. Its hypnotic music and sociopathic lyrics resonate with all who hear it. It is the swan song of a band that tirelessly and fearlessly reigned the music industry throughout the late 1970s and 1980s. However, when the track was released in 1983, the group already began showing signs of strain. Despite an inevitable break-up, this trio managed to bequeath an unforgettable ballad considered by many to be one of the greatest songs ever recorded. This remarkable band is—of course—The Police.

Guitar legend Andy Summers details how this acclaimed melody came together among other musical accomplishments in his new long-awaited memoir, One Train Later, (Thomas Dunne Books Hardcover Original; Publication Date: October 17, 2006; 4.95; ISBN: 0-312-35914-4). In this intimate, revealing and often acidly funny work, Summers writes fluidly about his first guitar, his struggles with earlier bands, his relationships and encounters with Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, John Belushi and more.

Summers followed his work with The Police (who sold over 75 million records and garnered five Grammy Awards) with a career that encompasses more than twelve solo albums, soundtracks, and collaborations. In addition to performing concerts (most recently with the New Composers Orchestra at Carnegie Hall), Summers is a photographer and shows his images around the world.
