 Modes.
I have been trying to learn aboutr Modes. I get the Cmaj scale with 7 modes. No sharps or flats. I 'm confused when I ues other Maj Modes. Example. In the Dmaj scale there is an F# and a C#. In Ionian mode I would use the D maj scale. Now in the Dorian mode of the Dmaj scale ( which is the E note ) do I use the E scale ( Which is F# C# G# D#) or starting at E tone shoulld I only still be useing the the Dmaj scale ?? And so forth for rest of the modes. In other words do I just use the notes in the Maj Ionian mode and just use ther #'s and b's thru the next 6 modes or use the key of that particular note or what??
