January 2007 marks the 10-year anniversary of Ken Steiger’s teaching career as a guitar instructor at Musicians Institute in Hollywood. An honors graduate of Musicians Institute, Steiger began his teaching career in 1997. Over the last ten years, he has taught Metal guitar to thousands of MI students from around the world.

An accomplished guitarist, Steiger is a featured performer in the 2006 Red Hot Chili Peppers video, Tell Me Baby, and was the guitar coach for Mark Wahlberg on the set for the movie, ‘Rock Star.’ Steiger has released three albums featuring his unique style of instrumental guitar. His most recent release, “Defiance”, boasts an array of musical finesse with a little help from his friends Derek Sherinian, Tony Franklin, Virgil Donati and Gary Hoey.

Steiger currently performs with his band Project Steiger at various local Los Angeles venues, including The Knitting Factory and the Whisky a Go-Go. Project Steiger has received widespread acclaim, including such honors as the All Access Magazine Award for Best Instrumental Band of 2003. In addition to tearing it up on the local scene, Project Steiger is in the process of recording tracks for their new album due out early next year.
