MXL Microphones, the professional audio division of Marshall Electronics, has announced the introduction of the MXL USB.006 computer microphone that plugs directly into any USB port for instant professional CD quality audio recording on a P.C. or Mac.

The new MXL USB mic plugs directly into any USB port on any portable or desktop computer and is instantly ready to record a big, rich studio sound for voice or music not possible with electret or dynamic mics.

The new MXL USB series features a Large 24 K Gold Diaphragm Pressure Gradient Cardioid Condenser Microphone that is similar to the types used in expensive studio mics that require special power supplies, multi-channel mixers and all types of accessory equipment.

The mic has a 20 Hz-20 kHz frequency response, a 3-position analog attenuation pad. The digital section features a 16-bit Delta Sigma A/D converter with a sampling rate of 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz. A red LED behind the protective grill informs the user that the microphone is active and correctly oriented toward the user.

Because of its high quality and ease of use, the new mic opens up new possibilities for home, business and professional recording. Recording enthusiasts will find that the sound is so smooth and transparent that it can open up a whole new wave of creativity. It’s also an exciting tool for multimedia, pod-casting, news and broadcast applications. With a portable computer, one can capture concerts, lectures, or even document outdoor sounds in full fidelity for film and TV backgrounds.

The MXL USB.006 is now available thru dealers worldwide and is priced at an MSRP of 69.00.

A new software for fast easy recording called the “MXL USB RECODER” is now available for free downloading from: http://www.MXL-USB.com
