    – Press Release

Paul Weller officially launched Gibson Guitartown London a community inspired music and arts campaign designed to raise money for The Prince’s Trust, Nordoff-Robbins and Teenage Cancer Trust.

Thirty, ten-foot free-standing fibreglass Gibson Les Paul guitars will be creatively designed and endorsed by household name British musicians such as Brian May and Paul Weller. Each iconic Gibson Les Paul guitar sculpture will be individually hand painted by London based visual artists who enter the project via the http://www.londonguitartown.com site. They will then be displayed in the shadow of Tower Bridge around More London and the Mayor of London’s office City Hall, from June 1st 2007 for twelve weeks. Following the public display all thirty, ten-foot guitars will be auctioned off for the three charities. A pocket map will be specially created and distributed around London, giving members of the public the opportunity to locate their guitar hero’s unique design.

“I am very proud to be associated with the Gibson GuitarTown London campaign as it combines my passion and appreciation for the guitar, whilst raising money and awareness for three very worthy and deserving charities,” said Paul Weller.

“London is one of my favorite European cities with an outstanding musical environment. Gibson GuitarTown London will be a momentous and unique public exhibition, raising money for three fantastic charities with the support of many of Britain’s top musical names. This is our gift to the people of London”. Said Henry Juszkiewicz, Chairman and CEO of Gibson Guitar
