How do you install Vol&Ton pots on underbridge pickup, with or with out a pre amp? I have a Gibson or a Martin preamp,small black square or rectanagle box, battey goes into it as do the pup wires the output jack is connecteed to the box and board. I have pots 25k, 250k, & 500k battery connection and 2 types of output jacks, the preamp jack & I have a Markely 3 tab from the Sweet spot I am currently using. I can get the pup to work through the pots but there is no VOL or TON control, I have about every diagram, but this one it seems. I know I have a wire wrong I just can’t see it. If I ground the pup braided to the pot it goes dead, the pots are ground to themselves lug to back now. Thank Jeff

It’d help if I could see what you describe. Apart from the general point that 25k or 50k pots are the things to use with active electrics, I’m not a great deal of help without either pics or some model names/numbers that I can look up on the web.
Even so, you might want to look up this extremely useful site:
