By chance I came across a bunch of Dr. Robert/Blow Monkey clips on YouTube. Man, how many catchy songs did they produce? I’m counting what should have been six #1s. At the very least.

Most of the comments people have left seem to be in regards to Dr Roberts perfect teeth.

    Yours?

Listening to the Commotions now I hear a lot Tom Petty/Crowded House coming through in them.

I will happily admit to a strong liking for Lloyd Cole and the Commotions. Apparently, they had a hard job getting a producer for their third album, “Mainstream” because they were regarded as sounding a bit samey. If true, that’s bonkers. The whole point of a producer is to do something about that. A lot of fine songs they put together.

Another good one Lee. Forgotten talent.

Speaking of YouTube greatness, there are 2 reasons to watch this footage of Amy Winehouse and Paul Weller do “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” on Jools. You will see reason 1 at about the 00:03 mark:

Once again, Weller is just crackers live.
