Just as we prepare for the onsalught on of new music technology to come out of Winter NAMM, Bogdon Music has taken a step backward and quite possibly forward at the same time (not too much unlike the Abdul tune). Bogdon has created an Upright Bass made out of a cardboard box.
It's portable, disposable, and to please tree lovers, even recyclable.
According to their press release the Bogdon Box Bass isn't a replacement for quality materials and fine craftsmanship, but rather the box bass is a novelty. "The absurdity is fun and the sound is wonderful." I have to agree, it is pretty absurd and it doesn't actually sound too bad.
Touring Nashville.
Bogdon Box Bass sells for $69.95 and the only tools required are a phillips screw driver, a hot glue gun, razor blade, and packing tape. The Bogdon Transducer is included at no added cost.
