Just got the DVD, watched disc one, and i can honestly say, it doesn’t get much better than this! even with the absence of Waters, astoundingly fantastic DVD, if you haven’t got it, get it.
Highlight for me was ‘Crazy Diamond’ what a performance, Disc 2 ( Darkside live) waiting.

Also bought ‘Meddle’ on CD, ive heard it a couple of times and im hooked.

Not sure about the bass player with the headless bass though, why do those stick bass players always jump around ? bit too 80’s for me.

Like I mentioned in my mini-review of Waters concert… I was worried after his Live 8 dingey pub effort. But he was back to peak performance in Feb or whenever it was.

I’ll give it another go this week Lee.

“Echoes” is one of my favourite Floyd tracks; archetypal lights-off, only the green display from the stereo, kind of music. As vocalists go, I can only base live comments on the Live8 gig. Roger was rusty and out of tune, whereas Gilmour on “Comfortably Numb” soared. When he was good, though, Waters had a great vocal style. I hope he was just out of practice.

Just seen the 2nd DVD and just as you thought things couldn’t get any better they did. Disc 2 is mostly Darkside live, and the playing and singing is out of this world (pun intended) the visual side of things are some of the best ive seen, i wonder how much it cost to stage? must have been millions, if it was The Stones PLC you would have got a few flashing lights and a rocket or 2 to end, a £30 T-shirt with a pair of lips on and a £20 program, Don’t know how much a ticket to Earls court was in 94′ but it would have been well worth it.
      Did anybody on here go??

Mike, give Meddle another listen, side 2, the last track, one of their best CD’s.

I think I’ve said it here before, I do have a preference for Gilmour on a lot of tracks in general. Not all songs, but Wish You Were Here and Time for sure. Neverthless, I’d still take to Roger anyday, especially on the The Wall, except for Gilmour on Young Lust.

Can’t say I’m a big fan of Meddle.
