On May 3rd, 2005 Hard Rock Cafe Los Angeles will host the first ever "Designer Gibson Guitar Auction" to benefit the Expedition Inspiration Fund for Breast Cancer Research.

Music and entertainment superstars including Sheryl Crow, Rod Stewart, Ellen DeGeneres, Melissa Etheridge, David Carradine, Mick Fleetwood, Joe Perry of Aerosmith and Brian Johnson of AC/DC are joining forces in an effort to raise money and awareness to help in the fight against breast cancer.

You can check-out the auction at

Interesting points:

- The Rick Nielsen/Cheap Trick customized Gibson has an estimated value less than the Gwen Stefani one. "Dream Police" folks, you can't put a price on that.

- The Melissa Etheridge, Sherryl Crow and Nirvana designed Gibsons have the highest value.

- Bette Midler's features cups and a skirt.

- Rod Stewart's fittingly looks as though it's been decorated by a love-sick school girl. Mother's Day gift maybe?

Good on them all, looks like a lot of fun and for a very good cause.

Results should be in next weeks GNW.
