Matsuoka guitar?
Submitted by aloha1234 on Tue, 11/20/2007 - 09:55.
I have a guitar that I think is a matsuoka. There is no visible identification except, in the sound hole there's a round sticker with M-20 typed. Also, in the sound hole I can see where the neck is there's a bunch of numbers (791119).I would like to know what the guitar is worth, and when and where was it made. Thank you.
Hello (or should that be aloha?),
Ryoji Matsuoka is a reasonably well known (ie, even I heard of) maker. Here's a link to the background:

and it has been mentioned a while back here on Guitarsite:

Value is difficult to measure. They do crop up on Japanese online auctions but you have to know your Yen rate. Even then, that doesn't mean you'd get the same money by selling in your own country. Decent quality, though.
Thank you 1bassleft for responding to my question. I'll check out the links.
You're welcome, and keep us updated :)
