Is this the picture you tried posting?

That guitar is a LaBaye 2x4 and is most famously used by Devo's Bob 1. In live shows he plays it on "Smart Patrol/Mr DNA" and uses the trem arm to break all the strings at the end of the solo.

For pics of Bob 1 with this guitar (which looks like it's been re-finished in the 2nd photo, unless he's had more than one of these over the years) see: http://www.devo-obsesso.com/html/photo_pgs/live70s80s/80_toronto_2.html and http://www.devo-obsesso.com/html/news_pgs/la-4-04/sir-7.html

Here's some more info for you: http://rwkguitars.com/FactsLaBaye.htm

Hope this helps!

The pickups that interest you are used on a variety of Teisco and Kawai models of the late 1960's.

The pickups appear fairly frequently on eBay. Just search either "Teisco" or "Kawai Guitar". sb

Hey GLW,

The pickups in the auction you found are from the same era but not the same as the pups used in the Teisco sharkfin guitar. If you look closely, the pole pieces in the sharkfin are square and not adjustable.

That auction is a good find though. A fair price if those are the pups you need. sb

I wonder if Kory will be back to read the answers we gave to his questions?

Or did he come back already in stealth mode?

Come on, Kory! We need closure.
