Laughing , as old pervs go, I suppose I'm slightly nicer than the average. BTW, I was about to answer some of your other Qs about the Strat on the "pics and links" thread, but my PC hung up. Anyhoo, regarding its value, there is a R-serial (ie, slightly younger than yours) Fender Japan Tele on eBay with a Buy It Now of $550 but no takers. One of the problems is the cost of EPS shipping to the States or Europe.

Japanese-made Fenders are more highly regarded in the UK than US (some American players are still not aware how well made they are) but the earlier ones ("JV" for Japanese Vintage or serials beginning "A" and "B") are worth double the later, '90s examples.

If you want to play harder/faster rock then you might want to move on from the Tele but I'm not sure a Standard Strat is what you'd want. Two of the things that might appeal in a different guitar are a flatter radius neck (Fenders are 9.5", which is pretty curved) and humbuckers, which give a ballsier tone. Consider perhaps a "SuperStrat" guitar with a bridge humbucker by the likes of Ibanez.
