My mother gave me her guitar and someone told me it may be rare, that Takamine made electric usually, not acoustic.

When I google this guitar along with the series #, nothing ever comes up!!! I asked another guy who is supposed to be a guitar expert and he argued with me that the guitar could not say, F-310S, that no such number in the F series existed. Am I hallucinating? No, I know what I see and that is what it says, F-310S. It also says March 28, 1978.

Can anyone please tell me if this is a rare guitar? The approx. value?

    Forever grateful !!! 😉

Can a cool tube 3 amp be installed in this guitar w/o any issues?

I had to register before I posted (and then I got distracted looking over the site) so Tim posted first. I was going to link the review he posted, now there is no need, but here is a link to the Takamine F-310S on their website (they have limited information about their discontinued models): http://www.takamine.com/?fa=detail&mid=1036&sid=351

I have no idea how rare that particular guitar is, but I do know that Takamine is primarily known for their acoustics and acoustic-electrics.

Well, someone has to say it…Takamine make loads of acoustics, in fact, neck on line, it’s what they’re known for, sorry. Electro-acoustic admitedly but acoustic none-the-less.

I know there was a F-310 but I don’t know much about acoustics really…others on here should be able to help more, however, Harmony Central does jump from 310 to 312S…
