Noob stopping by to say hello.

Hi all. I'm new to this site. Just picked my guitar back up after it sat in the corner for 20 years.

My one daughter (8 years old) asked about learning to play. . .we signed up for lessons with a local guy. . .Berkley grad from back in the 70's, very cool guy. . .we've been playing for a couple of months now and we're having a blast. . .can't remember why I put the darn thing down in the first place. . .better late than never I guess.

My guitar (that I bought probably 30 years ago) is an Epiphone FT-140. I'm not interested in selling it or anything but, does anybody have any idea how much it's worth?

I'll be hanging around from time-to-time.

Looking forward to discussing/learning/etc.[/img]

Welcome in, CPAC :)

Nice to see you back hitting the strings along with your daughter. As to your Epiphone, it has been discussed in the earlier (bulletin board) days of Guitarsite http://www.guitarsite.com/database/Guitars/rec/295/wwwboard/messages/431.shtml but I don't think the posts answer your question. You have two ways of judging its value:

1) Goto the Harmony Central site and look at the user reviews for your guitar. If a reviewer or two bought a used one recently, the price paid will be mentioned.

2) Goto eBay, type "Epiphone FT-140" in the search and tick the box for "completed listings" and that will show the final bid price for any that sold recently.

Hope this helps and keep looking in :)

EDIT: No FT-140, but here are completed "Epihone FT" auctions to compare with:

G'day!

Wotcha!
