Member has an eBay StorevintagegearhollywoodFor your consideration is this extremely nice very very clean 100% ALL ORIGINAL 1997 Gibson Les Paul Standard 1958 historic reissue. This is one of a limited quantity of Gibson Custom Shop made guitars which were inspired by a 1958 cherry Les Paul Standard with an original Bigsby! We have only seen several of these, and this one is by far the best looking and playing one we’ve owned. The serial number is “8 7145” and the pot codes are 1379626. This is an authentic vintage reissue and does display the Custom Shop logo on the back of the headstock.
This guitar exhibits several very unique and distinguishing features; 1) the headstock does not have a “Les Paul Model” decal, and remains completely blank with the exception of the inlay Gibson logo. 2) The plain top (as is the case with all of the guitars from this limited production) is finished in a beautiful vintage cherry. 3) The guitar comes equipped with an original Bigsby vibrato. 4) The neck is considerably chunky, and is a really beefy 1958 profile neck.
This guitar is in very excellent plus cosmetic condition. This guitar was never used, and exhibits absolutely zero playing wear. The only ding on the guitar is near the serial number on the back of the headstock. The nickel hardware and Bigsby have not oxidized, and all of the metal parts look new. All of the parts are original and the guitar comes with the original early Gibson Custom Shop black case and a plethora of case candy. The Les Paul plays and sounds fantastic. After setting up the guitar with fresh strings, we were surprised by how well the Bigsby works- keeping the Les Paul in tune during the entire test drive. The guitar sounds as close to a real 1958 as you can get without re-mortgaging you devalued home. The P.A.F. reissue pickups sound great, the guitar is resonant, and the large neck profile allows you to really experience the instrument. The big neck audibly enhances the tonal quality of the instrument and gives the guitar more warmth and sustain. The attention to detail is phenomenal, and it will be hard to find a better Les Paul. The guitar weighs 9.1 pounds, and feels really great. Having just been setup with new strings, this guitar will arrive in plug-in-and-play condition. These earlier Custom Shop instruments are very nice. Don’t miss this opportunity to buy a great guitar that is destined to be worth more very soon.
