cut the spring or take it out, cant think of another solution, can you get shorter saddles? ive not seen any.

no i havent seen any although american standard saddle is shorter its also wider and wont fit the narrow string spacing on mex.standard i did put an american standard spring on saddle i think they were about one third the length of the mex spring that came with the bridge. cant beleave im the only one that ever ran into this problem. other than the slightly # E the guitar plays and sounds great :?

No your not the only one, i have a Jap Strat squier model from 94, it too suffers with the same broblem but i just left the string a little # , not bothered me much, im sure others must suffer with it.
The whole bridge could do with going back 5mm, easier said than done though..

your probably right i think with the short spring its only like 05.5cnts thats why i didn't move the bridge or, i thought about putting a piece of brass between the butt end of the neck and the pocket to gain a mm not enough or thinner strings, but like you say fender should give more adjustment room here. so we'll live with it, just figured mabe someone else might have a trick or 2.
