OK, again I am a bit puzzled at something I just picked up . It is a SAUNDERS . Very , very nice bass. Dimarzio P pickup (late 70’s vintage) Gold Grover tuners. 70’s Dimarzio heavy brass bridge.brass nut. Nice P Bass type bass.

I use to think I knew a lot about basses. This is a beautiful American made bass that nobody seems to know much about, including me.

If anyone knows the history of Saunders Basses (says California , USA on the inside of the neck pocket) please contact me. THANKS !!! 8)

Should already know how I feel but: If you’re playing it and it sounds good, keep it….if not, profit from it! Hope you’re well bro.
I guess Findaguitarteacher was right. I supposed that the guitar you found was once owned by the Legendary Bassist Tony Saunders. He also won 2 Emmy Awards for his excellence in playing the bass guitar ad played for many song artist in his era. If I were you I’ll keep that guitar because that is a priceless thing.
Or he could put it up on ebay – could be a nice score!

I’ve never seen or heard of a Saunders Bass but I’ve heard of a bass player by the name of Tony Saunders who has played bass (and other instruments) for a number of well-known artists since the late 70’s. I know it’s a stretch, but I can’t help but wonder if there is a connection of some sort.
