TheAirtightGarage has announced that the Betsy Tonebuster 115 is now available. It’s a Betsy Tonebuster that has a modified circuit, different power and output transformers, a single fifteen inch driver, optional extension cabinet and choice of output tubes.

The looks are the same, but you could think of the 115 model as a “jazz amplifier meets single fifteen inch speaker”. The Tonebuster 115 has the same great touch resposne as the Tonebuster and even more accuracy. The open back single fifteen provides good bass response and more laid back high end. Pair the Tonebuster 115 up with a standalone reverb and prepare to be knocked out.

Standard features:

– Control layout is the same as the Betsy (Tonebuster)
– “ground” switch is now a “mid shifting” switch which changes the response of the midrange control
– NOS 12AY7 input, NOS 5751 tone stack driver, NOS Mullard 12AT7 phase splitter
– 6L6GC or 7027A output tubes
– Mullard 5AR4/GZ34 rectifier
– Larger power and output transformers
– Extension cabinet with single 15″ available (can use both 15’s simultaneously)
– Single Alnico 15″ driver (the venerable JBL D130 available, call for availability and pricing)

As with the Betsy Tonebuster, this amp is a lot lighter than it looks, and can easily be one handed by the average guitar player. Average weight is under fifty pounds, depending on the wood chosen to match your tone
needs.
