A local seller is offering a red DeArmond M70 – 00 and s/n KC9060632. Seller has no details about age, if it’s stock, etc.

No ebay sales on this model and guitar-museum.com is showing two from several years back that sold for 50 & 00.

Any assistance on pinning down age, original specs, etc. is appreciated.

    * Local as in seller is about an hour away and I haven’t seen/heard/played guitar yet.

I have some details from an email I sent to Fender. The salient tidbits are:

      – Model Name: M70
      – Model Number: 035-7000-(Color#)
      – Body: Solid Mahogany Body
      – Neck: Set Mahogany Neck, (.082″) Thick at 1st Fret, (.088″) Thick at 12th Fret
      – Fingerboard: Rosewood
      – Scale Length: 24 3/4″
      – No. Of Frets: 22
      – Width at Nut: 1.6875″
      – Pickups: 2 American made DeArmond Gold Tone Humbucking pickups
      – U.S. MSRP: $649.99
      – Source: KOREA
      – Introduced: 7/1999
      – Discontinued: 7/2000

So, it was only made for one year. Fender would not release how many were made.; however, based on the s/n I gave them, mine was made in July ’99.

I called my LMS for a value and whatever source they had (not sure if it was the online blue book) didn’t have a listing for this guitar.

If anybody has a blue book value or any other info, please post.
