Sorry, the Antigua is a bad idea, but the bowling ball is the product of a sick (literally) mind. OK, found the barmiest guitar. Now, spare a thought for the complete lack of logic that makes some bass players open a wallet. Not, strictly, a 'finish' problem - just barking mad all over. NB, these aren't from the back pages of the catalogue where the kid's toys are - these are high-end, wallet wringers. Step forward Ritter:

and Basslab:

I rest my case (containing a dubious-looking, "Bird's eye Koa" topped eye-acher:

don't know why the Basslab pics came over all funny. They're strange enough without gremlins getting in the way...

Hi guys,

This sucker makes the bowling ball/marble look like a Da Vinci.

http://www.musik-service.de/ProduX/Gitarren/EGitarren/Fender_Stratocaster_Splatter_Drop_BLK.htm

Sorry I was so quick to nominate the bowling ball/marble strat.

Believe it or not they call this a "splatter strat".

Has Fender stopped making guitars?

I believe the method for painting them was to leave em out on the beach for few hours.. throw some hot chips on em and let the seagulls do the rest. Smile

In defence of fender but... http://www.fendereurope.com/news/images/10_cs_strats-2.jpg

Edit: 1bl pics came out looking weird because they have a white border... made for a white background.

I thought the "spatter" had a clear pickguard but obviously not, as there is no rear rout apart from the trem. While searching for something else, I found out these are aluminium hollow-bodies.

I did have a copy of Fender Frontline mag and, inside, was a pic of a Custom Shop "Disneyland" Strat to celebrate some anniversary of the place. Wood-bodied, but still as gaudy and tasteless as the themepark itself:

Please 1bL,

Isn't it hard enough being an American these days without throwing this in our face. I'm so ashamed, my only hope is that no one bought it. SB

Well done Mike, you have found it!! this for me says it all, take a look at the one with the 3D relief guns on it, it just says it all, can you imagine the sales pitch? and the discussion with the Fender Custom Shop boys? snigger snigger, and it just goes to show, money talks, nobody stood up in the custom shop and said 'NO, this is going too far!! ' this gets my No1 vote Laughing
