Yamaha FG 230 six string?

I recently acquired an older Yamaha acoustic with the Red Label inside that reads "Yamaha Guitar FG-230 Nippon Gakki" the only number I can find is 1223999 inside top part of the guitar. This guitar is a six string. I thought the FG-230's where 12 strings. Did Yamaha make this model as 6 string also? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I am able to answer my own question. Talked to a rep from Yamaha and the FG 230 was made in a 6 string, but not distrubed by the US company. Told it was probably brought back from someone oversea. Possibly someone in the service that was stationed in Japan. Pretty cool.
