Here's optimistic.

This guy has taken a guitar that doesn't look even remotely like a Stratocaster and has given it a makeover with genunine Fender parts and is including a "Fender STRATOCASTER original custom built" decal for the buyer to put on the headstock.

And he wants 180 quid for it.

Sure, the Fender parts wouldn't have come cheap, but stick them on a guitar that LOOKS like a Strat, please! I mean, look at the way he's trimmed the scratchplate to make it fit.

Is it a 3/4 size guitar or just ultra-dinky? Everything added just looks oversized. With the decal applied, I can just imagine everyone saying "Wow, you bought a real Fender?" At the primary school.

The size catagory on Ebay suggests it's actually a 4-quarter size...

I wonder what kind of tuning he is using on that single string setup.

Congrats, myfoot. A long time ago, I started this thread off looking for not just a ridiculous price but some really gunkcious text justifying it. I think you've hit the all-time high. I was about to say, "hang on, mate, even these ugly PA heads can attract serious money" but then I saw the $20k start and $45k BIN. Ahahaha. I got the nice looking Marshall PA, the one that does look like a Superlead at a quick glance, over to my mate in CA for well under $2k not very long ago. What a dreamer.

PERFORMERS IN THE LATE 60'S AND 70'S WERE TAKING THESE AND HAVING THEM SWITCHED BACK INTO GUITAR HEADS BECAUSE OF HOW COOL AND ABNOXIOUS THE HEADS LOOKED.

Bollox. Total bollox. It was cheaper just to buy the guitar heads.

HE MADE THIS AMP HAVE A MASTER VOLUME AND GAIN AND THIS AMPLIFIER HAS A WORKING EFFECTS LOOP.

Anybody wants to pay over the odds because a valve PA has a "WORKING EFFECTS (echo) LOOP" can buy one off me. And any mathematician knows Marshall Plexi + Master Volume mod = decrease in value, except PAs always have a master vol so I fail to see this "mod"

That's right. One like this:

IIRC, it was well below £800 but I still thought it was a lot of dosh. Rightly, my mate was happy to pay the price and have it shipped.
