"Optimistic" eBayers

OK, we all see a "get real" auction, so I'm going to set the bar quite high on this one. Can you fulfill all three requirements and give us all a laugh?

1) Guitar is a well-known plank
2) Starting bid and/or BIN is frankly barking mad
3) This is the tie-breaker - a really lame/inventive excuse for the barmy price.

Perhaps ultra-mods like Mike and Jason will come up with a duff prize if the thread takes off. Here's my starter:

Starting bid is twice the value, BIN is quadruple the value, and I love this bit of pitch from the seller - "i would think a fender collector would want one of these and now you can". If I have to, I'll bring up the crummy Marshall cab "as used by Page and Plant" in reserve.

They've gotta be good'uns, people :)

Crucianelli Guitars i have a elli 12 have any takers

Come again?

More Mustang nonsense, I'm afraid. This could appear in "worst finish" or "Barking 'Bay description" but I'll go for this thread instead. It's worth clicking:

It's a '72 Mustang (yawn) with Duncan pups (snore) that's been refinished (deep coma). Wake up! It's been "HAND PAINTED BY KURT COBAIN'S FORMER ART TEACHER!"

Robert Hunter taught KC art for a year in "never heard of it" Aberdeen, Washington State in '83-84. Ten years later, the guy suddenly realized he taught a "major talent". Hunter has a history of trying to flog dusty homework of St Kurt, only to be stopped by legal eagles working for the Kobain estate.

Now it looks like he's started spraying cheap Mustangs and selling them. IMHO, it looks exactly like the work of an "art teacher with a Masters", working at an art college. Nothing like a talented artist, in other words.

I don't idolize the Kurt; but it is a bit smelly to watch some nomark try to skin gravy off his back.

I quite like it actually. Reminds me of the "bowling ball" Strats.

4 days to go and nobodys bid, maybe its not such a mad world after all.

I bought one of these (a lefty) as a backup. I was the sole bidder at £100. Surprisingly, no-one's come in with an opening bid of £300 for this thing

What is it? All I get is "The page cannot be displayed".

it's a left handed 5-string cort bass, with free ritter bag, i love it when they say free, someone will bid an extra fiver for the auction cos the gig bag comes with it, so its not free, is it?

It passed, sans bid. Quel surprise. Someone correct my lousy French. Nobody bid on this "bargain", in plain English

This one falls under the "It's British! It's a valve amp! It must be good! Stick a ridiculous BIN price!" category:

No, it's a London City. It's a hideous amp even when it's not that vile turquoise colour. I don't think the seller has put up the links (schematic heaven, IIRC) to the unreliability and shoddy components of this short-lived brand. Just look at those transformers. Now, £495 gets you some genuinely nice stuff but if you want to spunk it on a London City, be their guest. As the Kaiser Chiefs don't say "I predict a no-bid"
