I get the feeling this discussion in descending into pure ridicule, Laughing
I also get the feeling there is an Anti-Dagenham (part of UK bordering London and the Home County Essex) feeling going on here, Billy Ocean lived in Dagenham and worked in the Ford plant, and Billy Bragg lived in Barking/Dagenham and is hailed as a god in those parts, Billy Piper of course was a Sunday afternoon stripper in the Mean Fiddler (dagenham) and used to do a well known trick with a 10 pound note, a pint of Welks and a Midget barman. Crying or Very sad

Don't remember seeing that in Dr Who's "Back to 1987" episode Shocked . Oh, hang on, just done the math(s) - that would've been frankly disgusting. Still, I'm puzzled. Surely Billie Piper would've worn plimsolls when the £1 note was still legal tender? There may be a "Captain Pugwash" urban myth going around.

One thing that isn't an urban myth. Billy Ocean was cack.

Ah, that clears it. For the benefit of our non-brit readers, maybe I ought to explain the "Captain Pugwash" urban myth. There really was such a kid's cartoon about these loveable pirates on the good old BBC. Watched it myself as a sprog. In adulthood, and in the public bar (where else?) I, and millions of others, were told the amazing 'facts':

"Pugwash" is Australian slang for cunnilingus
His First Mate was called "Master Bates"
Another character was called "Seaman Staines"
and the character the kid's identified with was a youngster called "Roger the Cabin Boy" (roger being an English euphemism for "physically expressing a liking for someone whilst grunting a lot")

Sadly, thanks to re-runs on sat TV, I know that none of this is true (the cabin boy's called Tom), unless Michael or Jason can confirm that The Sheilas love a good Pugwash Laughing

EDIT: I'm developing an ever-growing respect for Billie; rubbish singer, decent actress, bit of a go-er! Too young for me, unfortunately.

I had a problem were my PC kicked me offline every few mins, generally as I was about to post a reply.

I thought I'd posted a response beginning:

'I like Cox...'

Well, I am a bassist. But it seems I didn't, can we add him to the list?

Of course we can, unfortunate name though, but more than makes up for it with his mastery of all things bass.
Speaking of names... i work for a very large UK company installing and configuring Internet hardware, and there is a project manager whose surname is 'Fiddler' and first name 'Richard' and likes to be called 'Dick' , as a parent we have responsibilties to our children, and this fellow was clearly let down in that department. And he is listed in the company directory as Mr. Dick Fiddler... amazing Laughing

Yep, my HoD was Dr. Johnny Holder...

For anybody familiar with Brit-soaps, a fresher in the chemistry dept told me her name was "Emma". Wouldn't give me the surname. I needed it for enrolment, so she finally said "Dale". What kind of twisted parents are out there? My real moniker's bad enough...
