Hi. I recently took the pickguard off my guitar and the pickups out. When i did this the springs from the single coils cmae out and now i do not know where they go. Anyone able to help? Thanx

its tempting to say 'ill come over and help you look' but i wont, instead go to www.allparts.com type in 'springs' in the search field and there you will see spare pickup springs with screws.

Perhaps d0m got them back off the carpet, but doesn't know where they go back in? The model of guitar might help, d0m, but here's the general idea (for SC pups):

The long screws passthrough the scratchplate and the mounting holes in the pickup. The springs are passed along the shaft of the screw so that, as the screw is tightened/released, the springs compress/expand and the pickup is dropped down/raised up in relation to the springs.

If you look at everything, it should become obvious to you whether the springs are meant to be between the scratchplate and the hole in the pickup mount, or underneath both and resting against something in the cavity. If it isn't obvious, come back with a bit more info on the guitar and somebody'll chime in. I'm afraid it is rather late right now in Lee+bass land, but we usually look in every day and there are other people Stateside who can help.

Despite the fact I stupidly wrote "in relation to the springs" instead of "in relation to the strings"

Glad to help. Feel free to look around and join in on any other threads.
